Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for the COLREG 72 mobile applications for iOS and Android.

Last updated: October 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the COLREG 72 mobile applications for iOS and Android (the "App") handle information when you use them.

Who is responsible

The iOS version of the App is published on the Apple App Store by Yury Smirnov (Russian Federation). The Android version is published on Google Play by Mikhail Smirnov (the Netherlands). In this Policy, "we" means the publisher of the version you use. Contact for both: support@happyjigsaw.com.

Information we process

The App may process app usage events, diagnostics, crash reports, performance data, device and app information, purchase status, and advertising identifiers where available. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address or phone number in the App.

Study progress, quiz answers, reading settings and similar learning data are stored on your device. Some app content and media are loaded from Firebase services so the App can stay up to date.

Third-party services

The App uses Google Firebase services for analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, remote configuration, app integrity checks, cloud storage and content delivery.

The Android version uses Google Mobile Ads and Google's consent tools. Where required by law, you are asked for consent to personalised advertising and can change your choice later in the App (About & legal → Privacy & ad settings). In-app purchases on Android are processed by Google Play and RevenueCat. The iOS version is sold through the Apple App Store and shows no ads.

These providers process information under their own privacy terms and may process it in the United States or other countries.

How information is used

Information is used to operate the App, provide purchased access, remember learning progress, deliver content, improve reliability, understand feature usage, show ads on Android, prevent abuse and respond to support requests.

We do not sell personal information. The App does not collect precise location, contacts, health data or private messages.

Legal bases (EU/EEA and UK)

We process data to provide the App and the access you bought (performance of a contract); for analytics, crash reports, performance monitoring and abuse prevention (our legitimate interest in keeping the App reliable and improving it); and for personalised ads on Android only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Retention

Study progress stays on your device until you reset it or uninstall the App. Analytics and crash data are kept by Google for the period set in the providers' retention settings and then deleted (Google Analytics for Firebase keeps user-level data for at most 14 months; Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days). Purchase records are kept by Google Play, Apple and RevenueCat as required for billing and tax.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data from the EU/EEA or the UK is transferred, the providers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

Your choices and rights

You can delete local progress by resetting it in the App or by uninstalling the App. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings and, on Android, change ad consent in the App.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your personal data, to restrict it, to data portability and to withdraw consent. Because we do not keep accounts, most data is held by the providers listed above; contact us and we will help you exercise your rights with them.

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For the Android version, published from the Netherlands, this is the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

California and other US states

We do not sell personal information. On Android, advertising identifiers may be shared with Google to show personalised ads, which some US state laws treat as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can opt out in the App (About & legal → Privacy & ad settings) or by limiting ad tracking in your device settings. The iOS version shows no ads.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date shows the current version.
